| Opleiding |
Gedurende zijn verblijf in Tahiti raakte hij geinteresseerd in de wereld van de kunsten en volgde daar een tekencursus. Teruggekeerd in Parijs vervolgde hij zijn opleiding in portetteren en modeleren.
In 1997 vestigde hij zich in Portugal in de streek ‘Serra dos Candeeiros’ bekend om de ‘ limestone’. Hij trainde in het beeldhouwen in het museum António Duarte (Caldas of the Queen). In 1999 opende hij zijn eigen atelier.
In 2002 volgde hij een beeldhouwcursus Caldas da Rainha Portugal.

‘Of its search of a proper way its first figures, the feminine bodies in rock had resulted in spontaneous and poetical workmanships. Thierry Ferreira equally develops a study work that denotes its vision do world, whose social reflections, thoughts and ideas actualize in so diverse materials as hardened, iron, glass, rock, and wood, among others. In 2003, the sculptor conquest an honourable mentions in the Prémio de Pintura and Escultura Fernando II (Sintra, in Viana do Castelo, and in Vila Nova de Cerveira. This year, Thierry Ferreira already was honoured with the First Prize Sculpture Arthur Bual, in Amadora. In May of 2005, he will participate in the Salom d Árt Comtemporain de Montrouge (France) and in the Symposium of the Sculpture in Rock (Symposium International de Sculpture sur Marbre de Montbrison, also in France). In Portugal, its workmanships will be displayed in Guarda in the month of October.’ |
